Thanks for tuning into my show last night. I hope you enjoyed the musics.
Special thanks also to Big Nick D for a cracking guest mix. If you’d like to catch him DJing in a clubby environment, make sure you come down to Cafe 1001 this Saturday for Lowering The Tone Vs Bank Of Switches, also featuring a whole host of quality DJs including the mighty Meat Katie and Matt ‘Dopamine’ Goddard. I’ll post more details about this party here later in the week.
In the meantime, this latest Hubie Sounds show is now available to stream and download via the links below. Knock yourselves out…
I’ve got a lot of cool stuff to cover in this week’s show on NSB Radio. First up I’ve got an exclusive guest mix from my good friend and head honcho of Bank of Switches, Big Nick D, who is promoting his latest party here in London, this time teaming up with the legendary Meat Katie at Cafe 1001 this coming weekend. You can check out more details about this party right here.
Also on this show I’m paying tribute to two legendary institutions of the British electronic music scene: the first of which is the recently closed-down Fabric nightclub. I’ll be paying tribute with a selection of tunes that evoke great memories of The Big Disco.
The second tribute is to Fatboy Slim, who hasn’t closed down, I’m pleased to say. On the contrary, Norman Cook is still rocking parties worldwide and this month he is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of his debut album (as Fatboy), Better Living Through Chemistry. And to help celebrate I will be spinning one or two big tunes from this seminal album.
Hubie Sounds 115 – Tuesday 13th September @ 9pm BST – live and direct on NSB Radio!
Seasons greetings everyone. After a slighter-longer-than-expected break from the interweb airwaves (many apologies for that), Hubie Sounds is back on NSB Radio.
Tonight I’m celebrating an auspicious event that only comes around once in a while, and it’s not Christmas… yes that’s right, it’s Star Wars!
Those of you with eyes, ears and a pulse will probably be aware that the much beloved Sci-Fi franchise returned to our cinemas last week to a great fanfare, and as a fully signed up Star Wars geek (I have the embarrassingly large Droid collection to prove it) I’ve leapt at the opportunity to dedicate this show to my favourite movie franchise.
Once again I will be presenting a show crammed full of music that has links and themes to Star Wars – as usual, some of which might be a little tenuous – but all of it will be 100% quality tuna.
Oh and I lied about the Christmas bit earlier. I will be squeezing a little bit of festive cheer (cheese) in there too, albeit with a Star Warsy twist.
Hi team. As some of you might know, I like a bit of rugby, so I’ve been quite excited by the Rugby World Cup kicking off last week here in England.
To celebrate, I’m dedicating this week’s show on NSB Radio to tunes and artists that have at least a vaguely tenuous link to World Cup rugby, including kiwi dub by Fat Freddys Drop, Gallic house by Daft Punk, Stateside hip hop by A Tribe Called Quest, British breaks by Elite Force, plus loads more.

Hi everyone. Hubie Sounds is back on NSB Radio tonight. I know it’s been a bit of a patchy year for the show, so please accept my apologies for that. I hope to make up for that with the shows I’ve got lined up for the rest of 2015, starting with this, my 99th show on the station.
To celebrate the recent release of The Chemical Brothers‘ 8th studio album, Born In The Echoes, tonight I will be dedicating my show to tunes that have influenced the duo’s music over the years, as well as tunes that have been influenced by the duo since their inception as The Dust Brothers in the early ’90s. It’s an ‘Under The Influence’ special!
Expect to hear loads of classic funk, electro, hip hop, acid house, big beat, breaks and techno, plus a few select gems from the new album too.
