Thanks for tuning into my show last night. I hope you enjoyed the musics.
Special thanks also to Big Nick D for a cracking guest mix. If you’d like to catch him DJing in a clubby environment, make sure you come down to Cafe 1001 this Saturday for Lowering The Tone Vs Bank Of Switches, also featuring a whole host of quality DJs including the mighty Meat Katie and Matt ‘Dopamine’ Goddard. I’ll post more details about this party here later in the week.
In the meantime, this latest Hubie Sounds show is now available to stream and download via the links below. Knock yourselves out…
I’ve got a lot of cool stuff to cover in this week’s show on NSB Radio. First up I’ve got an exclusive guest mix from my good friend and head honcho of Bank of Switches, Big Nick D, who is promoting his latest party here in London, this time teaming up with the legendary Meat Katie at Cafe 1001 this coming weekend. You can check out more details about this party right here.
Also on this show I’m paying tribute to two legendary institutions of the British electronic music scene: the first of which is the recently closed-down Fabric nightclub. I’ll be paying tribute with a selection of tunes that evoke great memories of The Big Disco.
The second tribute is to Fatboy Slim, who hasn’t closed down, I’m pleased to say. On the contrary, Norman Cook is still rocking parties worldwide and this month he is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of his debut album (as Fatboy), Better Living Through Chemistry. And to help celebrate I will be spinning one or two big tunes from this seminal album.
Hubie Sounds 115 – Tuesday 13th September @ 9pm BST – live and direct on NSB Radio!
I’m back on NSB Radio tonight with another action-packed Hubie Sounds show.
Tonight I’ll be spinning a fine selection of fresh new beats for your ears, including a few choice cuts from Justin Martin‘s excellent new album Hello Clouds – out now on DirtyBird Records – along with the usual eclectic selection of funk, soul, hip hop and general lovely stuff.
Hubie Sounds 112 – Tuesday 24th May @ 9pm BST – live and direct on NSB Radio!
Don’t forget to come and say “hello” in the NSB RadioChatroom too.
This week on NSB Radio I’m honouring the spirit of ANZAC Day, which occurred yesterday on 25th April, when we commemorate the New Zealand and Australian men and women of wars gone by.
Don’t worry, I’m not going to be dedicating the show to some sort of jingoistic chest beating or anything too serious, instead I’m going to use this time of remembrance as a fine excuse to celebrate the great music from these two countries.
So you can expect to hear plenty of funky, dubtastic grooves from New Zealand as well as some quality house, breaks and electro from Australia, featuring artists as diverse as Freq Nasty, Flume, Pitch Black, Pendulum, Connan Mockasin, Tame Impala and loads more. It’s certainly going to be an eclectic show!
I will also be honouring and celebrating the dearly departed Prince, with a selection of tunes from his incredible back catalogue.
Hubie Sounds is back on NSB Radio tonight. This time around I’m going to present my set from last weekend’s Rockit Science Sunday Social, featuring a fine selection of funky hip hop to warm you up for the second half of the show, in which I’ll be spinning some tasty up-tempo beats from the realms of dirty house, breaks and electro.
Hubie Sounds 110 – Tuesday 12th April @ 9pm BST – live and direct on NSB Radio!
Don’t forget to come and say “hi” in the NSB RadioChatroom too.
