If you're looking for help, you've come to the right place. but let's get something straight, we can't teach you how to become a mega superstar breakbeat dj, pioneer your own breaks radio station, or show you how to tie your shoes, however we can address some frequently asked questions and help you troubleshoot common problems that a small percentage of first time listeners experience.

How do I tune into NSB Radio?

We offer a variety of ways for you to tune into NSB Radio. Click on the link that represents your media player of choice at the top of the page. I clicked on the media player icon and accepted the download. why didn't anything happen after the download was complete?

The most common reason is your media player's configuration. Check your settings and ensure that .pls files are set to play. Alternatively you can use the above guide to enter the stream URL manually.

I've set my preferred media player to play .pls files, but RealOne Player keeps starting when I try to listen to a live stream. What's up with that?

When you installed RealOne Player on your computer an additional start up program called RealOne Smartcenter was also installed. This program runs in the background and not only slows your computer down but also retains control of media file formats, including .pls files.

To prevent Smartcenter from automatically running when you boot up remove the program from the start up items menu, alternatively, you may right click the RealOne Smartcenter icon in the right side of your task bar and choose disable. You may need to reconfigure your preferred media player to play .pls files.

I'm a breaks DJ, how do I get a show on NSB Radio?

  1. Check the schedule and make note of available slots
  2. Download and fill out the application form
  3. Press the submit button and choose email client or webmail as your sending method
  • If you use a desktop email client your default email program will start and a pre-addressed message window will open with the pdf form attached.
  • If you use webmail you will be prompted to save the pdf form. You must navigate to your webmail and attach it to an email manually. Ensure that you have addressed the emails listed on the application.
  • Our application is an Adobe PDF file. To use the submit button feature, view our form with Adobe Reader.

Alternatively, you may apply for a radio show by email. Please include the following information in an email addressed to jim@nsbradio.co.uk and ash@nsbradio.co.uk

  1. the day and time of the slot you are applying for
  2. what style of music you play
  3. links to demo mixes/website/myspace etc
  4. residencies and/or gigs of past and present
  5. any other important info that will help us make a decision

Do I have to live in the UK to be a DJ on NSB Radio?

No, you can live anywhere in the world. NSB Radio accepts applications from DJ's all over the globe. How else could we grow to be the biggest breakbeat radio station in the world?
