Graffiti Breakz – Bassline Samurai – May 1st, 2010

In a world of Swords, Nun-Chucks, Dragons and Kimono’s there are but a few things that define a true Samurai. Primarily a true Samurai is a Warrior with reckless bravery, fierce family pride and a selfless, sometimes senseless, devotion to their art and Master. It’s this dedication, passion, focus, training and constant progression that has inspired Graffiti Breakz, Bass line Samurai.

The May bank holiday will be the coming together of eastern and western cultures, styles, art forms and dance traditions. From the black fat tip of the graffiti pen to the fine point of the manga charcoal, east and west come together and create a cross over world within the factory. Across the two stages of the main room main, yes two…more explained below…expect to see dance a martial arts extravaganzas, while Dragons and Geisha’s scatter the rose petal gardened venue.

Following back to back capacity hitting events, Graffiti Breakz is only adding to the musical and artistic mix with their Bank Holiday installment, Bassline Samurai. Surly you must have seen the video of the Battle event (below if not), shot by Unseen TV UK & WaynesWorld. They’re back for the Bassline Samurai to capture the elements, music, vibe, crowd, and staff that make Graffiti Breakz one of the most talked about breaks nights in London.

As you know Graffiti Breakz is all about those little added extra’s that you are not likely to see in any other club, and this event is no different. We have a vast array of performances, showcases, dances, displays and demonstrations to entertain throughout the night.

We are always trying to increase the experience at Graffiti Breakz. To ensure that everyone experiences every element, we are bringing in staging for the main room at the event, to ensure everyone form front to back can watch the martial arts, dance and performances in all their glory.

On stage 2 in room 1 there will be:

Capowara Showcase

On the purpose built Second stage in the main room, the true Samurai will be coming to life. As an ancient dance form, and martial arts discipline Capowara, originating in Rio de Janeiro Brazil around 500 years ago, and then traveled the globe to the Europe and the East, originally known as the Dance of War, this is an elegant and beautiful style that has been developed and performed in and around the globe for many centuries. We now bring this tradition to Aldgate, to the sound track of traditional Bongo’s and beats. Witness the grace of this form first hand to a sound track of the orient.

Taekwondo Spar Performance

Masters of the arts, Gabriel Faulx and spa partner will be taking to the Showcase stage, with an acrobatic, graceful, and deadly Taekwondo showcase. Originating in Korea, Taekwondo is a fast and precise martial art, which has been practiced for centuries across the globe. The speed and agility required for this form is astonishing, and to see this live is jaw dropping experience.

Chinese Dragons
This event would not be complete without authentic Dragons dancing with the crowd through the club. The colour, the sound, the beauty of the orient comes to life and embarks on a journey through the crowded factory. Be sure to experience the extravaganza that will be the talk of the town for years to come.

Geisha Girls

As we like to give you something extra every time, a selection of free shots will be handed out through out the night by Geisha girls in all their grace and glory. Elegance and etiquette are paramount when it comes to Geisha, and the Graffiti Breaks Geisha will be no different.

Break dance demonstrations
To keep true to the roots of Graffiti Breakz and show all the influences for this event, our trusted Resident Break dancer team No Fit State will be back on the mat, poppin’ and spinnin’ through the night.

Live Art
We wouldn’t be Graffiti Breakz if we didn’t have live Graffiti. Only this time is’ going to be slightly different. The front room will be transformed into a manga Haven. With oriental Influenced live graffiti being created in the front room, along side traditional and contemporary manga styles, there will be a rose bed of creative minds working together.

NSB Radio
Once again we will be taking over the award winning NSB Radio airwaves, and streaming live from the Rhythm Factory between the hours of 1 & 5, so even if you’re not based in the UK you can still enjoy and be involved with everything the Graffiti Breakz has to offer.

Oriental Theme Fancy Dress.
